Hi there, I'm Frederick, a friend of Tonio, well we are all friends.
We searched and found some really decent ones on a French site and also a Portugese one.
The problem is, as we are from Canada, we write and don't get an answer.

That's life.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

Hi Frederick, thanks! I wish the same to you and your family!
That is strange! They should send at least an answer...
I would help you, the only problem is that I don't know any companies here in Hungary that would ship a car to Canada but will look around.
My best bet would be Italy. I have seen a lot of decent ones for sale there during the past years. They don't really have snow there apart from the northern region.
For example this one is not too bad for the price:

Zoltan, Frederick forgot to mention that he's travelling to Europe this summer to find 4 Justy's. He will buy them, drive them to the neariest port and ship them to Montréal 8-)

Sorry Frederick, I misunderstood you! :D
I would really try Italy then if I were you, plenty of ports there.
That's gonna be a really big project!

Sorry to hear that, I hope you get better soon!
Frederick, if I may give you an advice: I would look for 2002-2003 Justy's mainly. Those were equipped with the 1.3 16V SOHC engine and came with air bags and power steering. Unlike the 1.3 8V units, these can easily be built into GTi's as well because of the pipes' shape and the reservoir's placement!
Here is a picture:

I also bought P/S and A/C from a 16V Justy and I am planning to have them installed this Spring.

2003 cars not yet allowed to come here in Canada, need to be 15 yrs old +

Personally I prefer the 1996 model, all of our north american parts are the same.

Zoltan, we don't want air bags, no power steering neither and the 1.3 SOHC even less 8-) we just want the chassis and drivetrain (AWD system) 8-) :P 8-)

Z GT-i a écrit:There are some pretty decent ones here in Hungary but it is really hard to find one for sale. At the moment there are no 3-door 4WD Swifts/Justy for sale in Hungary. The 5-door version is much more common.
Also, the majority of our cars came from Austria and Germany where they had been used as "Winter-cars" so almost all of them are really rusty. These go for about 1200CAD, while the price of the good ones can be 3000-3500. We were lucky a month ago and bought a red 3-door 2003 Justy in Austria for 600CAD. Mileage below 100000km, not too much rust, power steering, nice interior, 1.3 16V SOHC. There are a lot of things to do on it but for that price we can't complain.

That is EXACTLY what we're looking for, but it has to be 15 years old from the date it was first registered... As long as it's still solid, we can deal with a little rust. We don't care about mechanical condition, there's nothing that can't be fixed. finding parts online is easy. Finding a whole car not so much.

I suggested this late model only because I thought the power steering, the GS seats and the airbags and the SOHC head could be sold to someone and you would get some of your money back.
Our Justy was also bought only for the drivetrain :D It seems we will put a 1.6 block with TwinCam head in it and will turbocharge it. ;)

That's true unfortunately. We had been looking for a good one for months before we found this red Justy. There is only one really big problem with these cars: when the owners don't care about the underbody protection (and the majority of the Germans and Austrians don't really care as these are very cheap vehicles), the mounting points of the control arms can totally rust out, then the car becomes a timed bomb and can lose a control arm anytime when driving. Basically this is why I suggested the Italian cars.

I'm not sure there is a market for those parts here in north america, at least here in Québec province, I'm pretty sure nobody wants those parts and besides that, swift owners here are broke, no money

Is the 1.3L AWD tranny will bolt on the 1.6L block? The 1.3 awd tranny housing is smaller than a 1.6 awd housing if i'm not mistaken.

Is that your next project? On your car I mean 8-)

Nah, it's not my project Antonio, my friend bought the car. He has already bought 1.6 4WD gear for the project (transmission, hubs, driveshafts, etc).
My next project: I need to find a way to fit my new wheels on the car. It seems I will have to use the OEM fender flares and the front and rear lips.

I forgot to mention: I have been lucky again and bought a set of brand new OEM power mirrors for 40CAD! I think the guy didn't know how expensive these are when you buy them straight from Suzuki (around 320CAD/side)!

Ahhh...cool then 8-) . I saw many 1.6 awd transmissions for sale in europe, the ones from the 1.6 baleno awd but the speedometer is electronic and not mechanical like the Justy's :(

What's wrong with those wheels? Too large?

Hummm... that's strange...here we usually don't know what to do with them so they end up in the garbage :o
